Moto Z2 Force launching in India this February with free TurboPower battery pack

Motorola has announced that it’s bringing the Moto Z2 Force to the Indian market. The Lenovo-owned OEM will launch its rugged 2017 flagship in the region at an event on February 15th.

The launch will be streamed live on YouTube over at the state Motorola India channel. Pricing and a retail date are likely to be unmasked during the event, although because of an invite sent to Android Authority we do know that each device will come bundled with the Moto TurboPower pack free of charge.

As a quick refresher, the Moto Z2 Force features an all-metal unibody build made of ultra-tough aluminium for extra durability.

In addition, it offers Moto Mod support such as the aforementioned Moto TurboPower case which adds an additional 3490 mAh of battery to the prevailing 2, 730 mAh cell.

The Moto Z2 Force sports a 5. 5-inch P-OLED display with a protective “Shattershield” and a 1440 x 2560 resolution, a front-facing fingerprint sensor, and a 12 MP + 12 MP dual-camera on the trunk (f/2. 0 aperture).

The telephone is powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC and runs Android 7. 1 . 1 Nougat out-of-the-box. Motorola has been gradually rolling out Android 8. 0 Oreo update via certain carriers in the US, but a global rollout is expected in the coming months. It’s worth noting that Motorola has come under fire from some Z2 Force users over a peeling issue with the Shattershield layer. Its decision to charge owners for necessary repairs hasn’t been down well, but it remains to be observed how widespread the problem is.
