Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Tips and tricks-10

Remember those early Samsung Galaxy S7 video captures that showed off the handset’s slow-motion recording capabilities? If they looked a little jittery to you then you weren’t not alone. A number of Galaxy S7 owners are complaining about stuttering issues when recording at 240fps, even now that the handset is released.

Apparently, the issue is primarily affecting the Snapdragon 820 powered versions of the Galaxy S7 and not the Exynos 8890 version. The Snapdragon 820 model is available in the US, while the Exynos variant is sold in much of the rest of world, including Europe and Asia.

Handset owners seem to have tried a combination of internal storage and microSD card options to try to narrow down the problem, but it seems to be a common issue regardless. That said, trying to save high quality, high frame rate video to a slow microSD card might cause you problems regardless of the chipset inside your phone. Check out these videos below for a closer look at the problem in action.

As for a solution, there doesn’t appear to be one right now. Samsung hasn’t officially replied to complaints yet, as it is probably investigating the issue. Most likely, this is a driver or software problem that should be fixable with a simple update, whenever Samsung manages to get around to it.
