[Deal Alert] GSM Unlocked Moto X 2014 Available For $200 On Amazon Today Only – Plastic, Leather, And Bamboo Versions On Sale

The Moto X series has been known for being a good deal when compared to other flagship phones. If you’re OK with buying last year’s model (which is still more than serviceable, and is scheduled to get a Marshmallow update at some point), Amazon is selling it for just $199.99 today. This is the American GSM version, so it should work on AT&T, T-Mobile, and similar MVNOs. It’s a new phone featuring the stock 16GB of storage. The price is only valid for the next 16 hours (ending at 5 AM Eastern US time), so get an order in quickly if you want one.

If you’re looking for something with a bit of a premium feel, Amazon is selling the black leather-on-black version of the phone and the bamboo-on-white version, both of which are currently the same price as the regular black plastic model. That’s a deal, even if you can’t customize it – the upgrades cost $25 if you buy the phone directly from Motorola, where the base phone still sells for $300. The phone comes with the standard one-year warranty, and Amazon Prime customers can get free two-day shipping.

The 2014 version of the Moto X uses a 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED screen, a Snapdragon 801 processor paired to 2GB of RAM, a 2300mAh battery with quick charging, and a 13MP rear camera. Motorola’s custom software uses the AMOLED screen to display “breathing” notifications (something that eventually made its way into Android 5.0 and later), and custom sensors allow for some unique control gestures. At the moment the phone is running Android 5.1.
